The daughter of the Poet Laureate, Robert Bridges, Elizabeth Daryush published her first collection of poems, Charitessi<\/em>, in 1911 and then Verses<\/em> in 1916. Initially these poems were notable for a simplicity and plainness of style although in later years she wished that they had all been burned.<\/p>\n
